Fiat CR.42 Falco – 1/17th scale

Designed to 1/17th scale the CR.42 Falco oozes chracter. Construction is straightforward, featuring a box structure fuselage with 1/4 formers and stringers. The top wing is attached using a simple alignment jigs which makes fitting the distinctive struts a relatively easy procedure. The wealth of detail on my plans has to be seen to be appreciated, and the Falco is no exception. The comprehensive separate instructions, full of photographs and hints, talk you through each stage of the build. My model built from these plans proved to be easy to trim, and is a fine performer.

 To aid stability, the wings feature slightly increased dihedral from scale and the tailplane has been enlarged. These changes don’t detract from the scale character of the model.

Although no details are shown on the plan, the Falco should convert readily to Radio Control, with 3 channel control (throttle/rudder/elevator).
