1/17th scale Piper Tri-Pacer

Designed to 1/17th scale these accurate Piper Tri-Pacer plans are packed with detail and information, and were prepared with help from Piper Aircraft. The plans show full details to fly your model using radio control or free flight. The plan-pack includes an extra sheet showing all of the Tri-Pacer colour schemes from 1950 to 1960, year-by-year.

The model has a wingspan of 21 inches, and although it features scale rib spacing, it is quite simple to construct. It is designed to fly using Radio Control (Spectrum AR6400 installation shown on the plan) along with the Voodoo 25 Motor by Atomic Workshop. It is a very docile model to fly and would make a good first scale model for larger indoor spaces or calm outdoor conditions.

My prototype has also been flown to competition victory as a free flight model using the same Voodoo 25 motor, 130mAh cell and Zombie controller. It is very stable subject as a free flight model.
